Prophecies of The Tocc

Prophecy:The rule has always been "when in doubt go with HHH" but I just can't do it. Sure, there is the chance that they'll save the title change for Backlash, but Wrestlemania is the climax of the wrestling year and this feud has been building for a long time. Besides, Trips won't mind losing and regaining the belt until he catches up to flair's all time title count. Welcome to the end of long World Title reigns.

Prophecy:Which will make more money for the WWE? An old midcarder hoarding the title or a super-popular young talent? JBL, your days are numbered. Now get back in line behind guererro, big show, and taker for your next shot at a title run. In fact, bring back Farooq and get in line behind him too.

Prophecy:Angle attacked HBK at the rumble, not the other way around. Angle also beat HBK down pretty bad and never had his come uppance. Since HBK has been on the receiving end of most of the punishment, I can see him getting retribution at Mania. I'm a big Angle fan though, so this pick is really hard to submit.

Prophecy:If the title shot were more immediate, I'd definitely go with one of the two heels to win this one because Batista is going to walk away with the World Title. The year long timeframe makes things more complicated though. Still breaking it down, I see it like this. Benoit and Jericho both deserve it, but probably won't get it. I'm a big Christian fan but he's not going to get a title shot. Kane could get the nod to set up a battle of the titans between him and Batista, but I don't see that happening as a result of this match. It would be great to see Shelton walk away with the shot, and if he gets a nice push he could be ready in a few months. However, the most likely to win is Edge. He's been in the thick of the title hunt for a while. His whole character is based on it, and I can't see him letting up.

Prophecy:The cover of Playboy does use the words "WWE Champion Diva" to describe Christy. Plus Trish has held the title for a while. However it seems to me that Christy is just filling in for Lita here, and that the Trish vs Lita feud is not over yet. I say Trish retains in a short match. Christy will need more training before she can carry the strap.

Prophecy:Akebono needs to save face after getting K(the F)O'ed at K1 by Bob Sapp. WWE historically has been quite nice to its celebrity guests. Show can afford a loss here. After all, this is Sumo wrestling and Akebono was a Grand Champion.

Prophecy:I think this is the 5th "legend vs legend killer" match we've seen, with Orton going over Sgt Slaughter, Flair, Foley, and HBK. However, Randy Orton's super-push was cut short when Batista got the main event slot. Taker has a 12 year Wrestlemania winning streak, and for some reason I don't think 13 will be unlucky for the dead man. Orton is scheduled to miss some time for shoulder surgery, so it's likely that it will be played off as Taker's fault. Then Orton can come back and get revenge in 6 months at SummerSlam.

Prophecy:Eddie seems to be heading for a heel turn here, and Rey has often played the role of the poor lovable hero who gets punished at the hands of the newest heel. Eddie was WWE champ less than a year ago. It would suck if he lost to a cruiserweight at Mania this year.
