Chris Benoit vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield

Prophecy:Obviously Benoit is the better of the two wrestlers here, but it doesn't really matter which one of these guys is holding this lesser belt. I think former heavyweight champions only hold it to tide them over and shut them up in the behind-the-scenes meetings. Since I've got too many faces winning other matches I'll go with JBL. Plus it seems like he's been getting a ton of TV time and Benoit has been largely ignored.

Prophecy:WTF is Benoit doing with the U.S title his a f*#&%@! world title contender. JBL better win this.

Prophecy:Normally I would say JBL doesn't need the U.S. title and then I would pick the other guy, but Benoit is in the same boat. JBL has revenge on his side, but I can't see him toppling Benoit at the big stage, at least for the U.S. belt. More on this later.

Prophecy: the rabid wolverine isa amazing united states champion. i say he keeps it until no mercy and loses it to chavo guerro ( rumours say he is being drafted to smackdown)

Prophecy:After one terrible year for JBL, maybe this is the match to put him back on the ladder. Besides, i think Benoit is too good for the US Title, and should be pushed up to the Heavyweight title. But Benoit has been advertised as the US Champion at the Wrestlemania Revenge Tour, so i'll go with Benoit retaining at his first title defense.

Prophecy:Chris is a good US Champion.

Prophecy:I'm going to change to JBL because he seems to be getting way more TV time than Benoit, even though Benoit is ten times the wrestler of JBL.

Prophecy:It 's going to be close,but in the end I think the Rabid Wolverine's technical skills will make the difference.

Prophecy:I have really wanted to see this match for a while, but I never thought it would be for the U.S. Title though. I am going with Chris Benoit because he has to have at least one title defense since he just got it at No Way Out. I guess this match will open up Wrestlemania.

Prophecy:i see definitely 1 heel, maybe 2 becoming the new champs in the main events... some faces have to win

Prophecy:I think that the WWE will let JBL go home with the title. Maybe this will put him a little closer back to the top. But, I won't be surprised or dissapointed if he loses.

Prophecy:He deserves to be U.S. Champion since he hasn't won anything for awhile.

Prophecy:I can't believe this, but i'm picking all of the titles to change hands at Wrestlemania. JBL has just been too good this past month to not give him the title. I'm betting Benoit wins it back sometime against JBL, and Benoit is too good for this title anyways. I say JBL gets a super cheap win here. I'm guessing this is the show opener.

Prophecy:Still not betting for the other guy!!! JBL will win on the grandest stage of them all,and will pick up the U.S title. Heading into Judgement Day,JBL will start to become the #1 contender for The Great American Bash,where he will be involved in the World Title match. Someone will get involved at the end,but JBL picks up another solid PPV win

Prophecy:Too many faces are winning

Prophecy:i see benoit holdin the belt a little while longer . when was this match made by the way

Prophecy:benoit just got the freaken title. if jbl wins the us title will start looking like the cruiserweight belt. tossed about to much.

Prophecy:The Rabid Wolverine is just too tough for the Wrestling God.
